Dear Hasbrouck Heights Community,
As I continue my role as the Hasbrouck Heights High School Vice Principal, a line of dialogue from The Road by my favorite author, Cormac McCarthy, seems pertinent. In the novel, the unnamed father says to his son, “Keep a little fire burning, however small, however hidden,” in order for them to survive. As educators, students, parents and just human beings in general, the past few years have been understandably difficult. Sometimes, keeping that passion and that fire burning is harder than we think. However, one of my roles as Vice Principal is to inspire that passion in our students and staff.
I aim to help build upon the positive culture that has already been created by both the outstanding leadership and teaching staff. I also firmly believe that a strong work ethic is more important than natural talent and I hope to instill this value and more in our students. I am fully committed to working with our Aviator Community to help develop an inclusive environment where our students have the opportunity to grow into the best versions of themselves.
I look forward to the 2022-2023 school year encourage everyone to keep that fire burning, grow that passion, regardless of its size.
Sincerely,
Jared Fowler
