Summer Reading Information for High School Students
As everyone enjoys the sunshine, pool days, beach trips, and some well-deserved relaxation, we know that the start of school in September may still feel far off. However, it’s never too early to start thinking ahead! We want to remind families about our high school summer reading assignments, which are designed to keep students engaged and ready for a strong start to the new school year.
Please click here to view the assignment(s), which outline the summer reading assignments by grade level and course.
For Rising Freshmen:
The required summer reading is The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. A copy is available for loan at the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library, and a PDF version is also attached here for your convenience.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students stay prepared and on track. If you have any questions, please contact our summer reading coordinator, Ms. Caines, at cainessuz@hhschools.org.
We also encourage all families to take advantage of the incredible resources offered by the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library. In addition to borrowing books, students can participate in the library’s Summer Reading Program, which offers fun activities, challenges, and incentives to keep reading exciting all summer long. Visit hasbrouckheightslibrary.org to explore their offerings, and check out the reading program details at hhlibrary.readsquared.com. It's a great way to stay connected to reading and the community throughout the summer!
