Mrs. MacMillan provides targeted ESL instruction, building upon the OG+ phonics foundation established in the classroom. 🌟📚
OG+ (Orton-Gillingham Plus) is a structured, multisensory approach to phonics that helps students break down and understand the building blocks of language.
ESL instruction supports multilingual learners by strengthening their English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills—meeting them right where they are and helping them grow with confidence.
Together, OG+ and ESL create a powerful, supportive learning experience for all students. 💬✨

Our middle school ended the "spooky season" off with a bang! Students had a fun-filled day full of enthusiasm, laughter, and surprise! Our kids and teachers wore a variety of costumes, from scary to silly, to get into the Halloween spirit! We truly enjoyed seeing all the creative outfits students had to show off! It's always nice to have a great day of excitement after a long first marking period. It was another fantastic Halloween at HHMS, and we look forward to many more in the future!

🚓 Today, our 5th graders had an incredible opportunity to learn from Officer Sanchez of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department during LEADS (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Safety) instruction session!
LEADS is a program designed to educate students about making safe choices, understanding the dangers of drugs and alcohol, and developing strong leadership and decision-making skills. Our students engaged in thoughtful discussions, asked insightful questions, and practiced strategies for staying safe both at school and in the community.
We are so grateful for the partnership between our schools and the HHPD, which continues to provide mentorship, guidance, and real-world learning experiences for our students. Collaboration like this helps build a safer, stronger, and more connected community—one student at a time! 💙

🧠✨ Brain Break Time! ✨🧠
Our 2nd graders take a quick brain break in between lessons to recharge and refocus. Brain breaks are short, fun activities that give students a chance to stretch, move, or relax their minds, helping them come back to learning with more energy and focus.
Even a few minutes can make a big difference in attention and mood! 💡🎈
