Mrs. Simmons' Goals for the Middle School
Ms. Hernandez's seventh grade Algebra classes celebrated Pi Day on March 14th. Throughout the day, students from each class contributed to the paper Pi chain which hangs around the room. The students had a great time with this hands on activity.
In science class, the 7th grade students conducted a lab that helped them learn about the inheritance of traits. The Lab is called “Crazy Traits.” As the students tossed for their creature’s (child’s) traits, they built a creature to match. Look closely at the photos to see a variety of traits. These traits were determined by chance or probability. As an extension to the lab, the students then married off their child and in turn became proud grandparents!

The sixth graders are using the Ipads to complete non-fiction webquests in Reading. The students are exploring the setting of the novel they are reading.
